OUR MISSION

At Arazzo, we believe that world-class music should be accessible to everyone. Based in the heart of Connecticut, our mission is to weave together a stronger, more vibrant community through free chamber music performances and transformative educational opportunities for local students and audiences alike.

WHAT DOES ARAZZO MEAN?

The word arazzo is Italian for “tapestry,” a name that perfectly mirrors our core philosophy: weaving together performers, audiences, local businesses, and the broader community into a single, vibrant fabric.

Beyond the stage, we are committed to enriching the local landscape. By curating innovative chamber music and bringing our world-class artists directly into schools and community spaces, we provide mentorship and coaching that empowers the next generation of musicians.

Our Core Pillars

Empowering Classical Musicians

The heartbeat of Arazzo is our roster of high-caliber, international artists. We believe that the festival’s success is directly tied to the excellence of its performers. By bringing together musicians from diverse backgrounds, we foster a collaborative environment for elite music-making. This excellence, in turn, allows us to provide the community with world-class performances and premier educational opportunities.

Ensuring Universal Access

While many festivals monetize their events, Arazzo is built on the belief that financial status should never be a barrier to cultural inspiration. We aim to foster genuine, organic connections with our audience—connections that are often more profound when the fiscal barrier is removed. To maintain this inclusivity, a primary goal of Arazzo is to operate as a donation-based organization, keeping our concerts free for everyone.

Expanding and Diversifying Our Audience

Classical music is a living art form, yet it is often misunderstood as an exclusive relic of the past. We see every concert as a chance to liberate music that was once confined to private, wealthy drawing rooms, sharing it instead with people of all ages and identities. Our programming bridges the gap between eras; we celebrate the traditional canon while also performing new works. By curating unique programs in diverse spaces across Connecticut, we are redefining who classical music is for and where it can be heard.
